Retirement Village Concept
The essentials of well-designed properties in beautiful settings with extensive facilities and services are the benchmark for most of our Purchasers aspirations. Add to those criteria: the further requirements of security, comfort, companionship and support / care when needed (in a predominantly over 55’s community) and you have a Prestigious Retirement Village. The concept is not new. Successful communities abound in plenty over the North American Continent. During the last three decades these types of developments have grown and thrived across the USA and in Canada. Prestigious Living, following extensive research, have taken these models and have adapted the criteria to meet the cultural, commercial and aspirational differences in the UK. The ‘new’ Prestigious Villages therefore imitate tried, tested and successful overseas operations with discrete but necessary UK adaptations. Prestigious Retirement Villages Ltd. was formed in January 2005 specifically to acquire and develop sites as Retirement Communities. The following were our initial objectives: a) To acquire suitable land in good locations. b) To enhance the potential of those sites, for Village and associated uses, through design and planning. c) From experience and attention to detail improve, where possible; improve the quality of life for the occupants each of the Villages. d) Critically consider the “product” and by association with hotel and care partners improve as far as practical the concept of the Villages for people aged over 55 years of age. e) Each Village should comprise of a number of dwellings and facilities in desirable locations, elegant settings and in secure environments. Dwellings normally will comprise of; Cottages, Bungalows, Houses, and Apartments. All of these will be discreetly designed to accommodate ageing Owners. The dwellings themselves will have style and space equal to, or better than, properties available to the wider market place. The new generation of over 55’s buyers are generally discerning and well educated. They require: choice, quality and most, if not all, of the facilities and services available. Gone are the days when older people were farmed off into blocks or homes to fade away! The Villages will provide a secure, desirable and enviable lifestyle for the Purchasers. |
